Hawthorn (Crataegus) is a plant widespread in the northern temperate zone: Europe, Asia and North America. It grows wild in forests, clearings, on hill and mountain slopes, and in parks and gardens as an ornamental tree or shrub. It is a plant with thick thorny branches, the herbal raw material of which are flowers, leaves and fruits.

White or pink flowers are harvested in spring, at the beginning of flowering, and dried. In order for some of them to turn into fruit, you never pick all the flowers from one bush. Hawthorn berries ripen in autumn, taking on a characteristic dark red color. They are harvested in September and October and used fresh or dried.
