Horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum L.) is a tree belonging to the soapwort family (Sapindaceae juss). It comes from the Balkan Peninsula, although it is now widely distributed throughout Europe. Chestnut seeds, flowers, bark, leaves and fruits are valued raw materials used e.g. in cosmetics.

The main active substance of the chestnut seed extract is escin, which is a mixture of saponins. It has the following effects: anti-inflammatory, anti-swelling, strengthening and sealing blood vessels. Escin reduces vascular permeability. It inhibits the activity of hyaluronidase (responsible for the decomposition of hyaluronic acid) and prostaglandin synthetase (involved in the development of inflammation). It improves venous tone, reduces venous capacity and lowers blood viscosity, improving circulation.

Chestnut bark is rich in coumarins: esculin, esculetin, fraksin, scopoletin - which have a protective effect on the walls of blood vessels and prevent venous stasis. It also contains tannins, which have astringent, anti-inflammatory, anti-hemorrhagic and anti-bacterial properties.

To increase the effectiveness of the action, chestnut seed extract is often combined with mountain arnica, ginkgo, marigold, and centella asiatica extracts.

Regular supplementation with horse chestnut extract affects: the proper functioning of the circulatory system, the health of veins and capillaries, good circulation in microvessels.

Recommended use: 1 capsule once a day.

How to use: Swallow the capsule and drink plenty of water after a meal.
